A Note On Gift Aid For Sponsors Gift Aid is a scheme that allows us, as a registered charity, to claim from the Government the tax that you have already paid on your donation. The only rule is that each donor must be paying income tax (or capital gains tax) this year of an amount equal to the tax that we will reclaim on the donation (currently 28p for each £1 given). E.g. if you give £5, you must already be paying at least £1.40 in income tax this year! By ticking the column on the pledge form, you are confirming that you want COSMIC to treat your donation as a Gift Aid donation. It will not cost you any more money, nor will there be further paperwork.
